On this week's episode Tim and Joe began by setting the stage for Genesis 6, contrasting the righteous line descended from Seth—highlighted by figures such as Enoch and Noah—with the increasingly corrupt lineage that traced back to Cain. They discussed the phrase: “sons of God,” which they agreed refers to angelic beings who intermarried with human women, producing the mighty offspring, and they connected this to God’s 120‑year “warning period” before the flood. Emphasizing the biblical narrative, they noted that God’s grief over humanity’s pervasive wickedness led to the decision to eradicate all flesh except the “just” family of Noah, who “walked with God.” They acknowledged that while speculation about the pre-flood period can be fascinating, there is a risk in spending too much time thinking about the works of wicked men; and this applies to speculation about the wicked conspiracies of our day. We would do well to keep our focus on God's redemptive narrative. Wicked conspiracies are real, but the Lord in heaven laughs, we should too (Psalm 2).
