Worship Service, June 14

Service Location: Duncan Park (4880 S Pennsylvania Street, Englewood)
Time: 10:00am

Dear Church,

We'll be at Duncan Park this Sunday under the large American Elm trees in the southwest corner of the park. Everyone is on their own for food as our practice on park days is BYOPL (bring your own picnic lunch).

We are continuing through Genesis. On the podcast, Stephen, Joe, and Tim discuss Genesis 28, continuing the narrative surrounding Jacob's journey and God's covenant promise. The chapter reveals Jacob's flight from Esau, who seeks to kill him after he steals Isaac's blessing, illustrating the ongoing battle of the seed line established by God. Isaac finally aligns with God’s will, sending Jacob to find a wife from his family, thereby reaffirming the divine blessing and instilling a sense of purpose in Jacob’s mission. Jacob's dream at Bethel symbolizes a pivotal moment of revelation, where he realizes the sanctity of the place as "the gate of heaven," and he vows to dedicate his life to God. This passage underscores the themes of divine providence, the continuity of God’s promises through generations, and the significance of physical spaces in the relationship between God and humanity. Listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

If you are able to host in the upcoming weeks or months, please sign up here.
