Dear Church,
Holy week is just around the corner and we have a full week of opportunities to remember our Lord's final week and celebrate his resurrection. First, we'll kick off holy week with a Palm Sunday service at the Strawbridges' (March 29), on Maundy Thursday we'll cellebrate passover with a meal and seder at the Miltons' (April 2), On Good Friday we'll be back at the Strawbridges (April 3). On Saturday, we are partnering with Redeemer Community, New Covenant Church, Christ Church, and Trinity Church to sing Psalms at Bega Park in Littleton (April 4 at 10am), I'll be leading the group in Easter Anthem and it would be a blessing to have some strong Christ the Anchor singers there to help us along (April 4 at 10am). We've been invited to join New Covenant Church in lakewood for a Feast and Dance on Saturday evening (feast: 5pm-6:15pm, dance with live band 6:30-8pm). Then Finally, we'll be at the Andersons' for our resurrection celebration on Easter Sunday (April 5).
Our journey through Genesis continues this week. On the podcast Joe and Stephen discuss Genesis 19, highlighting God's judgment against Sodom and the moral complexities within Lot's narrative. They emphasize that God, in His mercy, sent angels to rescue Lot, contrasting Abraham's earlier intercession for the city with Lot's desperate actions to protect his guests. Lot's failure to protect his daughters and his subsequent plea to stay in a nearby city rather than ascend to the mountains signifies his spiritual decline and fear. The episode further explores the aftermath of Sodom's destruction, noting how Lot's daughters' incestuous actions led to the birth of the Moabites and Ammonites, nations that would later conflict with Israel. Ultimately, the discussion illustrates the dangers of moral compromise and highlights God's unwavering justice and mercy amid human frailty. Listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
