Worship Service, March 9

Service Location: the Nichols' (4501 S Kalamath St, Englewood)
Time: 10:00am

Dear Church,

Our journey through Mark continues this week in chapter 9. On the podcast, Joe and Tim discuss the Transfiguration and Jesus' healing of a demon-possessed boy. They explore the disciples’ ongoing confusion about Jesus' death and resurrection, their misguided arguments about status, and Jesus’ warnings about sin and causing others to stumble. Tim speculates that Moses and Elijah’s mountain meeting with Jesus could be seen as a form of time travel, connecting their Old Testament mountain-top encounters to this New Testament moment. They highlight the father’s plea, “I believe, help my unbelief,” faith isn’t about having perfect confidence but about bringing our doubts and weaknesses to Jesus. Their discussion concludes with a with an exhortation to take Jesus adminition seriously: "Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.” Listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
