Dear Church,
We're coming up to the end of Eastertide on Penetcost Sunday in couple week. As is our tradition, we will join with the Lighthouse (and possibly other churches) at Jason park on Sunday, May 24. The celebration of Pentecost reminds us that we are one- a single body of Christ united by the Holy Spirit. One day there will be no more anglican, baptist, or messianic, no more protestant or catholic, all divisions will cease and we will be the pure spotless bride of Christ. Our friends at the lighthouse are brothers and sisters, but they have a different vibe, they worship differently than we do, and even hold to some beliefs that we don't share. It's good practice for heaven to get together with them, mash our liturgies together and worhip Jesus. It is alway a highlight of the church year for me. I hope you will be blessed by it too.
We're continuing on through Genesis this week. On the podcast, Joe and Tim discuss Genesis 25, focusing on the transition from Abraham's legacy to Isaac and the unfolding narratives of his sons, Jacob and Esau. The episode highlights Abraham's careful management of his inheritance, illustrating his role as a responsible father who protects Isaac's lineage by sending other sons away. Isaac's longing for children and Rebecca's barrenness reinforce the theme of waiting for God's promises, echoing the struggles of Abraham and Sarah. The contrasting characters of Esau and Jacob set the stage for conflict, particularly depicting how Esau disdainfully sells his birthright, emphasizing the human tendency to undervalue spiritual blessings. Ultimately, the hosts remind listeners that faithfulness in waiting is crucial, as God's promises may not manifest immediately or in expected ways. Listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
