Dear Church,
I want to highlight the upcoming opportunity to join Redeemer Community and several other churches for a Psalm Sing (Friday, November 7).
Our journey through Genesis continues this week. On the podcast, Joe and Stephen discuss Genesis chapter 8, the narrative in which God remembers Noah. They explain that “God remembered Noah” does not mean He forgot, but that He turned His loving attention toward Noah in order to save him. They explore how the story represents a “new creation,” paralleling the creation narrative in Genesis 1—darkness, water, and then new life emerging as the ark comes to rest and light returns. They draw connections between the dove, the number patterns (especially sevens and forties), and biblical themes of testing, renewal, and the Holy Spirit’s presence. Finally, they discuss Noah’s altar and burnt offerings, noting how the sacrifice points to future covenant worship and God’s promise that the rhythms of creation—seedtime, harvest, day, and night—will continue without end.
