Worship Service, November 30

Service Location: the Strawbridges' (2760 S Ogden St, Englewood)
Time: 10:00am

Dear Church,

The season of Advent begins this Sunday. The Advent season is a four-week period in the Christian calendar that prepares people for Jesus' birth at Christmas, while also pointing ahead to his promised return. During Advent we will take a break from our series in Genesis and focus on Biblical passages related to anticipation of the first and second coming, waiting, and prayerfulness. Each week in Advent focuses on a particular theme; this Sunday, we will light the Hope candle and the following weeks will focus on the themes Peace, Joy, and Love. As a heads up, our Advent liturgy begins on page 4 in the green book. There is no podcast this week.

In addition to our celebration of Advent at Church, I'd encourage you to take some time each week to read the passages for the upcoming Sunday and reflect on the coming of Christ.

Our Advent Choir will work toward singing Savior of the Nations, Come and O Come, O Come, Emmanuel on the 3rd or 4th Sunday of Advent. I have made robot recordings for you to practice your parts with. Follow the links here.

Finally, the kids are planning a Christmas Pageant on December 28th after our worship service. Hope you can be there!
