Worship Service, September 28

Service Location: the Andersons' (4061 S Cherokee St, Englewood)
Time: 10:00am

Dear Church,

I'd like to highlight an opportunity to commune with like minded believers and sing some Psalms this Friday. Redeemer community is hosting another Psalm Sing at 6pm at Atlas Coffee on South Broadway in Littleton. RSVP here if you are able to make it. Also, if you'd like to host church in the coming weeks, please take a few minutes to sign-up this week (we're almost to the end of our list).

We continue on this week in Genesis. On the podcast Joe and Tim pick up in Genesis 4:16–26, examining Cain’s life and descendents after killing Abel. They discuss how Cain, though cursed from farming, establishes the first city and gathers followers moving his line toward urban life and specialization. Generations later, Lamech emerges as a violent and boastful figure, introducing polygamy and glorifying murder; the seed of Cain's murder bears the fruit of a corrupt culture. At the same time, Cain’s descendants contribute to advancements in culture-building; especially in music, and metalwork, demonstrating that even a corupt line can create genuine dominion and cultural advacement. In contrast, Adam and Eve’s new son Seth represents God’s continued promise, as his line begins to “call on the name of the Lord.” Joe and Tim close by reflecting on how God’s promises often unfold on longer timescales than humans expect, reminding listeners to hold onto hope even when outcomes seem delayed. Listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

If you are able to host in the upcoming weeks or months, please sign up here.
