Worship Services: Holy Week

Service Location: the Andersons' (4061 S Cherokee St, Englewood)
Time: 10:00am

Dear Church,

Holy Week is almost upon us, and we have a full slate of gatherings to mark these days together — Maundy Thursday, April 2nd at 5:00 PM, we'll gather at the Miltons' home (6554 S Datura St., Littleton), followed by Good Friday, April 3rd at 6:30 PM, hosted by the Strawbridges' (2760 S Ogden St., Englewood); then Saturday, April 4th brings two opportunities to celebrate with the broader community: first, a Public Psalm & Hymn Sing from 10:00–11:00 AM at Bega Park in Downtown Littleton (2250 Main St.), where we'll join with other churches to sing Psalms — and then that evening, from 5:00–8:00 PM, a Feast & Dance hosted by New Covenant Church (3898 S Teller St., Lakewood — just south of Belmar Sq.) featuring food, drink (strong and otherwise), live bluegrass music, and dancing; RSVP for either or both Saturday events at newcovenant.church/events/resurrection-festival.

This Sunday we are focusing on scriptures related to the resurrection. On the podcast Tim and Joe discuss 1 Corinthians 15, focusing on the centrality of the resurrection within Christian theology as a foundational truth that transforms belief and life. They highlight Paul’s argument that if the resurrection is denied, then both preaching and faith are rendered meaningless, as the resurrection is essential to salvation and hope. The podcast emphasizes the significance of the resurrection as the key event in God's redemptive plan, illustrating the shift from death through Adam to life through Christ. Tim and Joe also address the concept of resurrected bodies, asserting that God, who originally created humanity, will not find it impossible to recreate a glorious body for believers. Ultimately, they encourage listeners to remain steadfast in their faith and work, reinforcing that their labors are meaningful because of the victory secured through Christ's resurrection. Listen to the podcast on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
